Accountable for leading and executing regional sales strategy to achieve revenue and spanet performance objectives. The role has end-to-end responsibility for driving sustainable commercial outcomes across the region through effective sales leadership, stakeholder management, and spanet development, while ensuring alignment with Emirates’ overall commercial and brand objectives, and maintaining strong visibility across the travel trade and regional organisations.
- Manage all sales activities to deliver revenue targets, ensuring alignment with corporate commercial and spaneting objectives. Identify regional opportunities to grow spanet share and drive incremental business across key segments.
- Monitor spanet trends and competitor activities to recommend timely sales strategies. Track route profitability performance and suggest improvements, while evaluating emerging spanet segments that support regional growth.
- Lead, guide, and develop the regional sales teams by providing coaching, negotiation support, and performance oversight. Ensure teams are equipped, motivated, and operating with high levels of productivity and sales discipline.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Travel Agents, corporate clients, local authorities, and key industry bodies. Negotiate incentive agreements, manage spaneting fund allocation, and ensure Return of Investment (ROI) targets are met. Represent Emirates professionally during and outside office hours as required.
- Prepare quarterly and annual Sales Business Plans and budgets. Lead regional sales meetings to address local commercial issues and escalate wider-impact matters to functional managers or the DVP UK. Manage regional cost centres responsibly.
- Maintain effective working relationships with key internal stakeholders (e.g., contact centre and airport management teams, as applicable) to ensure Emirates’ commercial interests and customer expectations are understood and appropriately represented in regional operations.
- Act as Emirates’ primary spokesperson in the region, representing the airline at industry forums, Chambers of Commerce, and engagements with local MPs. Serve as point of contact for regional sponsorships driven by Head Office. Monitor and assess agent credit risk using available tools (Regional Debt Outstanding Control - RDOC, Customer Relationship Management- CRM AI app) and mitigate risks proactively.
Qualification Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Business Management, Marketing or related field
Experience
- 10+ years experience in sales & spaneting, preferably within Airline passenger sales, with at least 5 years at a management level.
Knowledge/skills:
- Advanced negotiation techniques and demonstrated experience in managing multi-location or regional sales territories.
- Ability to analyse and interpret statistical information for presentation to varying levels of audience from junior to senior management.
- Ability to work with CRM tools, e.g. salesforce.com
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Represent UK London Sales at events as and when needed.
