Aircraft Painter- $28/hr-$35/hr in Aurora, ORJob Description
Working in the paint shop area of an aircraft MRO (Maintenance, Repair, & Overhaul) operation, the Aircraft Painter is responsible for applying coatings onto aircraft parts such as rotor heads, transmissions, engine cases, fuel controls, and rotor blades. Several times per year, the interior or exteriors of the aircraft themselves will be painted. The different coating types for these parts depend on the skill level and years of experience of the painter. This position supports the effective operation of heavy-lift helicopters, which provide firefighting, infrastructure, supply, aircraft rebuild, and other services for domestic and international customers. Primarily using epoxy and polyurethane paints, and HVLP paint guns.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret maintenance manuals.
- Properly handle, mask, prepare for paint, and paint aircraft components and surfaces.
- Seal, prepare, mask, paint, and re-paint aircraft structures and structural repairs.
- Document all inspection findings and work performed/corrective action in the appropriate maintenance records.
Essential Skills- 2+ years of experience painting industrial metal parts or vehicles/vehicle components.
- Experience using a computer ERP system or similar to track parts or processes.
- Highly skilled in masking and HVLP painting.
- U.S. Person per client ITAR regulation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Previous experience painting aircraft highly preferred.

Work Environment
Component division of MRO facility, working in the paint area. Initial schedule is a 5-day week from 8:00am to 4:30pm for several weeks, then transitioning to a swing shift from 2:00pm Monday to Friday.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $40.00/hr.
