About the role

The Optometrist in a duty-free retail shop is responsible for conducting comprehensive eye examinations, providing expert advice on vision care solutions, and recommending suitable eyewear and contact lenses tailored to customers’ needs. play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring compliance with optical health regulations and duty-free retail standards. Additionally, collaborate with Vendors, Brand, Suppliers and buying teams to enhance product knowledge, drive sales, and maintain a high level of professional care within a fast-paced international retail setting.

Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess customers’ vision and overall eye health.

• Provide expert advice on vision correction options, including prescription glasses, contact lenses, and sunglasses.

• Educate customers on lens types, coatings, and other optical products to enhance their visual experience.

• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations related to optometry and eyewear.

• Ensure customer focus is prioritised at all times.

• Achieve sales budget for assigned boutique by dispending and selling optical frames, contact lenses and sunglasses

• Checking optical frames and contact lenses for accuracy and comfort.

• Advising customers on eye wear options, optical lenses and contact lenses.

• Work closely with Vendors, Brand, Suppliers and buying teams to recommend eyewear solutions tailored to customers’ needs.

• Support the achievement of sales targets by promoting high-quality eyewear and lens options.

• Assist customers in selecting frames and lenses that suit their lifestyle, face shape, and prescription requirements.

About you

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

• High School Qualification / Vocational Qualification /Diploma or Equivalent (Type of Diploma Based on Role) with Minimum 4 years of job-related experience; or

• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 3 years of job-related experience

Job-specific skills & experience:

• A valid QCHP Optometrist practicing License

• Analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent written and spoken communication skills

• Creativity.

• Results orientation

• Multifunctional skill base (financial, operations as well as sales techniques).

• Persuasiveness and tenacity to sell ideas.

• High level of initiative and assertiveness.

• Proficient in Microsoft office especially Word/Excel.
