Raytheon’s Optics Consolidated Manufacturing Center (OCMC) in Richardson, TX, drives Raytheon Technologies’ competitiveness in optical components, assemblies, and systems now and in the future. We are responsible for performing all equipment innovation, selection, troubleshooting and maintenance to lead the organization in delivering a quality product on time, at or below cost, in a safe environment.
This position is 100 onsite and will be a third shift position on a 9/80 work schedule (off every other Friday).
What you will learn:
- Training on this technology is conducted on first shift. Once training is completed, this position will be moved to a third shift position (12 AM to 9:30 AM)
What you will do:
- You will read and interpret documents, prints, safety rules, work instructions and operating procedures.
- You will fabricate of precision windows and lenses including the operation of continuous pitch polishers, multi-spindle polishers; CNC generating and polishing machines; Blanchard Mill; double sided grinders and polishers.
- You will clean, inspect, and package optical windows and lenses using established procedures.
- Additionally, you will inspect parts using micrometers, dial indicators, test plates, and interferometers.
- Job requires standing 80-90 and walking short distances 10-20, bending at the waist 20, lifting and/or carrying < 25lbs.
Qualifications you must have:
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
- High School Diploma or AA/AS degree with two (2) relevant manufacturing, production, product test or factory experience
- Experience operating a microscope or test tools (e.g. micrometers, height gauges, depth mics, calipers, polishers, and/or other hand tools)
Qualifications we prefer:
- Experience (5+ years) operating multi spindle polishers, continuous pitch polishers
- Experience inspecting optical components using interferometers and profilometers (Metrology)
- Experience producing plano windows, spherical lenses
- CNC Programming Skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
- Ability to read and interpret documents, prints, safety rules, work instructions and operating procedures.
- Good manual dexterity skills and hand-eye coordination
- Able to operate and use microscope and computer
- Measure part dimensions using various tools including micrometers and height gauges, depth mics, calipers
- Professional, positive, effective teamwork skills are critical to the success of the fabrication department and individual.
