Position Summary
Essential Functions
- Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives (5S, Kaizen, Standard Work, Visual Management)
- Participate in and support kaizen events and improvement workshops
- Help identify and eliminate waste (motion, waiting, defects, overproduction, etc.)
- Maintain 5S standards and conduct regular audits
- Assist in data collection and tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Help update and maintain visual boards, Team Improvement Boards, and daily management systems
- Support problem-solving activities using basic Lean tools (A3s, root cause analysis, PDCA)
- Train operators on Lean tools and new standard processes
- Work closely with production teams to support safety and quality improvements
- Assist in sustaining improvements after implementation
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment
- Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts
- Ability to work on the shop floor in a fast-paced environment
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint or similar)
Preferred Qualifications
- Lean certification (Yellow Belt or equivalent)
- Experience with Kaizen events or continuous improvement projects
- Familiarity and experience with creating/updating visual management and daily management systems
- Experience in safety, quality, or production support roles
