Morson are recruiting on behalf of a leading aerospace manufacturers based in Burnley, Lancashire. The position is for a Laboratory Technician.

This position is paying between 15.74 per hour and 17.28 per hour PAYE . This is a contract position although highly likely to be temporary to permanent within a short period.

Lab Technician role Duties:

-Prepare samples, conduct and report tests on incoming material samples, production process coupons, and other material submitted to the laboratory, or support in off-site activities if required.

-To ensure that all laboratory equipment has valid calibration certification.

-To ensure that all laboratory consumable materials are within shelf life limits and used within appropriate conditions and limitations.

-To conduct all testing activities in accordance with internal (Nacelles) and external (NADCAP etc) procedures.

-To provide expert advice and guidance on materials test issues to all internal and group functions.

-Carry out responsibilities of an employee as outlined in the Company&8217;s Health and Safety Policy

- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment, and organise 5S initiatives

-Provide excellent quality products and superior service to your stakeholders both internal and external

-Ensure all data, filing and records are kept up-to-date and comply with retention periods in accordance with EN9100 and other relevant standards

-To adopt the culture of quality basics, driving Cl as an attitude within the business

-Maintain and work rigorously to company procedures, continually improving and streamlining

- Identify areas and propose solutions, wherever possible, to reduce costs and maximise profit

-Provide excellent quality products and superior service to your stakeholders

-Provide accurate and timely advise and support

-Work collaboratively with your peers to foster a positive working environment

-Work collaboratively with other functions

- Identify & escalate any risks or concerns in relation to product or people safety using the company tools & processes.

Lab Technician experience required:

-Laboratory experience (Desirable but flexible)

-Composites production experience desired but not necessary.

-Team Player, ability to work under pressure, meet strict deadlines and maintain confidentiality

-Good communication skills-verbal and written

-Planning and organisational skills

-Intermediate skill level for Excel & Word software
