The role: Inflight Retail Executive - 12 month Fixed Term Contract
We have an exciting opportunity to join Onboard Experience, one of the airline’s most visible departments, on a 12-month fixed term contract. Working directly with our retail supplier on everything from product development and selection, to analysing loading and wastage data, you will be involved in the end-to-end retail operation to deliver an exceptional onboard experience for our customers.
You will be the primary contact for our retail supplier, participating in weekly calls, monthly business review meetings as well as engaging in frequent ad hoc communication on a wide range of retail topics.
What you’ll do:
- Manage our retail supplier to deliver the highest levels of performance against a range of metrics. Analyse loading and selling data to ensure the customer proposition is met, working closely with retailer on product development, categories and selection using customer insights to guide and future proof customer experience
- Participate in all projects that have a direct impact on operational or financial performance to ensure that they are deliverable; making recommendations that will support the desired outcome and ensuring that solutions support operational delivery
- Responsible for reporting metrics and developing timely management data to support commercial and operational supplier performance, supporting delivery of BA’s retail strategy
- Review customer, competitor and commercial data and produce analysis to inform decision making
- Responsible for the internal and external communication plan, ensuring key stakeholders are aware of, and sign off on, any changes prior to implementation
What you’ll bring to British Airways:
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver tasks to agreed timescales
- Ability to work across teams and influence internally to deliver change
- Ability to produce detailed reports/analysis as a tool for decision making
- Commercially and financially astute
- Takes an interest in competitor and spanet activity
- Strong knowledge of hospitality industry, particularly in food and beverage area
Your experience:
- Strong supplier management and negotiation experience
- Understands supplier management and commercial principles
- Experience in working on complex change projects that drive value propositions
- Good experience in innovative thinking and creative problem solving
- Proficient in use of MS Office
