DCGS-A Mentor:
This position provides Distributed Common Ground System-Army (DCGS-A) Mentors to the Joint Multinational Readiness Center (JMRC) Operations Group (OPSGRP) located at Hohenfels, Germany. JMRCs mission is to train Multinational Interoperability to US, NATO, and partner nation forces up to the Brigade level in an extended Live, Virtual, and Constructive Decisive Action Training Environment. JMRC supports the US Army Europe theater security cooperation
plan through planning and participation in NATO and U.S. Army Europe exercise programs.
The Distributed Common Ground System-Army (DCGS-A) Mentor is a DCGS-A technical expert (TE) and supporting member of the JMRC. DCGS-A Mentors work in support of JMRC rotations/exercises includes planning, coordination, hands-on training, and execution support to operate DCGS-A clients and virtual servers on the Tactical Services Infrastructure (TSI) Stacks.
DCGS-A Mentors deliver hands-on training on software that enables the Army operational readiness of Army Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR). Additionally, the Mentor provides hands-on support for the operation of the DCGS-A at the JMRC and populates the battle command systems with products designed to support brigade and division staff, Exercise Control (EXCON), and After Action
Review (AAR) data retrieval.
Duties:
• Ensures the full range of DCGS-A capabilities is integrated into exercise scenario design.• Conducts functional testing of DCGS-A systems, and writes and updates system documentation, procedures and application operating materials.
• Provides hands on training to ensure that DCGS-A is properly implemented to support Brigade Combat Team (BCT) exercise events including scenario development and the data necessary to support BCT operations in a collective training environment including live, virtual, and constructive data.
• Supports external organizations that identify and implement architectural and network solutions relating to the use of doctrinally appropriate DCGS-A applications including real world and / or simulated data sources and systems.
• Supports pre-rotation planning and coordination with BCTs related to the implementation of intelligence systems to support the command staff. Identifies each BCTs unique requirements to maximize operation and use of the theater provided intelligence equipment.
• Assists with the development of brigade level intelligence products utilizing DCGS-A software application.
• Supports and facilitates use of DCGS-A and Mission Command Systems to present operational products. Distributed Common Ground System-Army (DCGS-A) Mentor RMS Contract W900KK-19-C-0031
• Maintains a current understanding and knowledge on theater best practices and trends by incorporating new databases, tools or methods within DCGS-A to enhance rotational unit training.
Required Education and Experience:
• A Bachelors degree plus 3 years of recent specialized experience, OR;
• An Associates degree plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR;
• A major certification plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR;
• 11 years of recent specialized experience
