Morson Edge is currently looking for Skilled Aircraft Fitters to join one of the world’s leading aircraft manufacturers at their prestigious manufacturing facility in Filton. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of the Build Production team, contributing to the assembly and manufacture of advanced aircraft programmes within a world-class aerospace environment.
12 month contract
Rates: 28.87 per hour Umbrella / 21.58 per hour PAYE
Working Hours
Monday to Thursday: 06:30 – 15:45
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and work from engineering instructions, technical documentation, and aircraft drawings.
- Carry out assembly and fitting tasks in accordance with quality, safety, and production standards.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools to complete drilling, shimming, sealing, and general aircraft fitting activities.
- Achieve and maintain First Party Certification following successful completion of the required training and assessment programmes.
- Work safely and effectively within confined spaces when required, including wing tank operations involving restricted access and physically demanding entry and exit through oval-shaped manholes.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship while adhering to all health, safety, and environmental procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to team performance objectives.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Completed Aerospace or Engineering Apprenticeship.
- Recognised engineering qualification, such as:
- City & Guilds Level 2 or above
- BTEC ONC/OND in Engineering
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in a relevant engineering discipline
- Modern Apprenticeship Certificate
- Equivalent recognised engineering qualification.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical instructions.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving and task completion.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and embracing new ways of working.
- Strong understanding of, and commitment to, Health & Safety best practices.
