Job Title: Assembler
Job Description
As an Assembly specialist, you will be responsible for building composite parts using precise hand layup techniques. You will utilize laser systems for accurate ply placement, ensure the composite build-up is free from defects, and engage in vacuum bagging for various temperature conditions. In this role, you will also perform in-process inspections, use precision measuring tools, and accurately document your work.
Responsibilities
- Build composite parts using hand layup techniques.
- Utilize laser systems for accurate ply placement.
- Ensure build-up is free from wrinkles, air pockets, and voids.
- Perform vacuum bagging for room temperature, oven, and autoclave.
- Conduct in-process inspections and document findings.
- Use precision measuring tools and instruments.
- Record time worked accurately through Epicor.
- Inspect parts visually before vacuum bagging and conduct leak tests.
- Handle chemicals, adhesives, and solvents as required.
- Clean and prepare bond tools as needed.
- Unbag and demold parts, maintaining a clean workspace.
- Adhere to safety and security procedures, reporting unsafe conditions.
- Adapt to changes, manage competing demands, and handle unexpected events.
Essential Skills
- Experience in assembly and production, particularly in composite materials.
- Proficiency in hand layup of advanced composite materials.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and drawings.
- Experience with vacuum bagging and precision trimming.
- Strong visual inspection skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to work under minimum supervision.
- Experience in tooling fabrication and prep for lay-up.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a clean workspace.
- Ability to adapt to frequent changes and delays.

Work Environment
You will be working in a large, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, in teams of 3-5 within working cells. The dress code is business casual.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of LADSON, SC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.
