We have partnered with a leader in general aviation manufacturing to identify an Airworthiness Manager to join their London, Ontario operation. As the airworthiness manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the aircraft and associated systems comply with the relevant aviation regulations and standards. You will oversee the airworthiness activities of the engineering, maintenance, and publications, while providing guidance and support on technical and regulatory matters. You will also liaise with external stakeholders, such as Transport Canada, customers, and suppliers, to ensure the smooth and safe operation of the aircraft.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all aircraft designs, modifications, and maintenance activities meet the airworthiness requirements set forth by Transport Canada, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and other relevant aviation authorities.
- Maintain strong working relationships with regulatory authorities and act as the primary point of contact for airworthiness matters. Stay current with evolving regulations and communicate changes and updates to the organization.
- Oversee the creation, maintenance, and organization of airworthiness documentation, including certification reports, compliance records, and technical publications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality assurance, and testing, to facilitate the certification process for new aircraft designs and modifications.
- Conduct risk assessments related to airworthiness issues and work with the engineering team to develop and implement mitigation strategies.
- Establish and maintain quality assurance processes and procedures to ensure that aircraft production and maintenance activities align with airworthiness requirements.
- Coordinate and conduct internal audits and inspections to assess and verify compliance with airworthiness standards. Manage corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Oversee the preparation, review and revision of technical publications, including aircraft flight manuals, maintenance manuals, service bulletins and illustrated pats catalogs.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, and compliance throughout the organization by providing training, guidance, and support to employees.
- Prepare and present airworthiness reports to senior management, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders as needed.
- Manage the budget for the airworthiness department, including resource allocation and cost control.
- Build and lead a team of airworthiness professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and training as necessary.
