Production Supervisor

Ontic Engineering and Manufacturing Inc. is currently looking for a Production Supervisor who reports to the Cell Manager and will have an onsite work structure for its operations center in Creedmoor, NC. Ontic is engaged primarily in electro-mechanical assemblies for the aerospace industry including general aviation, commercial and military applications.
Ontic has a long history in the Aerospace and Defense spanetplace, producing high quality products used in both legacy and modern applications.
To be considered for the Production Supervisor opening, here’s what you’ll need to bring with you:
Minimum educational and work experience requirements for the successful candidate will include the following:
- Associate’s degree, equivalent military training or high school diploma with 5 yrs experience leading in a manufacturing environment
- Six Sigma experience, proficient at RCCA (Root cause and corrective action)
- Demonstrate knowledge of business processes - POE, QMS, Sales File, MRB, RMAs,
- Able to provide clear and effective verbal communication to management level.
- Proven ability to initiate and execute change into mature processes.
- Mechanically inclined and understands production fabrication and assembly.
- Experience with Epicor (preferred but not essential)
- Deep firsthand knowledge of manufacturing operations, the ability to provide real time shop support with solid troubleshooting skills leading to consistent production and quality.
- Must be able to pass background check and drug screening.
As a Production Supervisor, you will:
- Maintain a safe and well-organized manufacturing area.
- Assign tasks and manage workload to meet or exceed daily production output targets inclusive of developing technician shift schedules and overtime management.
- Lead regular cell level team meetings.
- Provide effective daily manufacturing progress communications to the team & all management levels.
- Development and ownership of production cell performance KPI’s
- Able to analyze cell performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain high product quality levels.
- Identification of continuous improvement opportunities
- Complete and maintain all required documentation and records accurately and in a timely manner and maintain a Skills Matrix which proactively identifies “Single Points of Failure” and actioning development/training/recruitment plans accordingly
- Leadership responsibility for assigned production cell employees, including appraisal, sickness absence and performance management.
- Compliance to applicable QMS procedures & effective NCR management
- Ensure that operators are trained for the work being performed
- Ability to assess team competency and hold team accountable.
- Stand in for Cell/Production Manager as required.
- Efficient labor utilization and overtime management/justification
- Lead continuous improvement events
- Maintain high level of internal/external customer satisfaction.
- Visible enthusiasm, Collaboration, drive, can do attitude.
- Manage and coach team leaders
- Drive and work with cross functional team to achieve KPIs
- Self-driven, can-do attitude.

Performance Measurements:
- Develop and maintain personnel skill sets to support company growth
- Assure policies and good business practices are adhered to by those reporting to him/her.
- Reduce and maintain production backlog to acceptable level to meet established on-time shipments target.
- Improve and maintain job tracking and reporting to achieve 98 accuracy.
- Maintain personnel skill set evaluation and development
- Align the people on the floor so that they feel and act like a team. Assure there are strong communications in place to make sure they have the current business info they need and, more importantly, we know and hear the real tone of how they feel and what issues they have.
- Build relations so production personnel are engaged and committed to the business’s success as demonstrated by the idea flow from them for continuous improvement (which we then have to act on)
- Generate and support active participations in process improvement (including CI, Kaizen, Employee Involvement, charts, etc)
- Monitor, maintain, and improve KPI’s for the assigned production cells in accordance with established operational goals.

Compensation Pay Range
