How youll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

Under the supervision of the Senior Manager, the selectee is responsible for conducting routine executive protection operations for the CEO and employees at risk. They will also assist with large scale event security planning.

Responsible for assisting with the creation of standard operating procedures to ensure consistent application of defined, scalable processes for developing comprehensive event security plans to ensure risks are identified and mitigated. This will include in depth venue risk assessments, logistics, partnering with other Fortune 500 company security members, law enforcement, government officials, venue security teams, as well as Delta leaders to ensure the plans enrich Delta’s goals and objectives for each event.

Will support new and existing KPIs, recurrent training for executive protection staff members, table-top-exercises, after-action reports, and coordination with industry peers to identify best practices to be implemented at Delta.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Support policies designed to secure Delta sponsored events and all attendees.
  • Identify and support the implementation, and integration of new technologies.
  • Drive the development and delivery of process and performance improvements.
  • Drive the inclusion of Executive, Employee and Event Security programs’ policies, procedures, and security risk mitigation strategy into the business operation.
  • Interaction with C-suite and executive staff regarding security-related issues.
  • Work with and manage third-party vendors and provide guidance on behalf of Corporate Security as deem necessary.
  • Lead and manage cross-functional initiatives with multiple key stakeholders.
  • Leverage relationships with Delta leaders to influence business decisions and build a security-first mindset.
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to promote Delta policy objectives and lead proactive security risk mitigation.
  • Support all aspects of the corporate-level executive protection drills, training and certifications.
  • Respond immediately to security issues, even when outside of normal business hours.
  • Maintain rigid confidentiality surrounding security strategies, tools/techniques, and current or prior investigations.
  • Practice safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • Experience working in fast paced, dynamic conditions while excelling under pressure in critical situations and meeting strict deadlines.
  • A high degree of professionalism.
  • Strong administrative coordination and time management skills.
  • Experience in developing security plans for various events.
  • Must possess an exceptional ability to communicate professionally through oral and written means to all levels of leadership.
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to a fluid and challenging environment.
  • Must possess a high degree of self-discipline, initiative, drive, and function well under budgetary, operational, and time constraints.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage competing priorities with minimal oversight.
  • Availability to travel extensively.
  • Availability to work non-traditional schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • BA or BS degree or a minimum of 5 years’ experience in physical security/facility protection, executive protection, event security planning.
  • Key qualifications include:
    • Experience with and knowledge of executive protection programs.
    • Experience with and knowledge of event security programs.
  • Must possess an exceptional ability to communicate professionally through oral and written means to all levels of leadership.
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to a fluid and challenging environment.
  • Must possess a high degree of self-discipline, initiative, and drive, and function well under budgetary, operational, and time constraints.

  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
