This role is accountable for leading the Managers, Customer Experience at these airports. The incumbent will instill a culture of Care & Class with a focus on safe and efficient operations, ensuring Air Canada is the airline of choice.
Assume full accountability for managing and overseeing the assigned stations budgets, ensuring financial goals are met and expenses are controlled while driving operational efficiencyLeads and mentors the Managers, Customer Experience, fostering a culture of excellence while ensuring employee sentiment and satisfaction targets are consistently achieved through effective communication and engagement strategies Accountable for establishing, maintaining and exceeding performance standards on daily Airport Operations for In Terminal as well as Airside Operations through third party providers, Station Operation Control (STOC), Customer Services, Baggage, etc.Ensure risks related to safety and security are addressed, root causes identified, and corrective measures implemented.Support airport managers and frontline staff in their regions to ensure safety, security, and service standards are consistently observed and practiced consistently, by conducting on-going audits, as well as means to verify effectiveness where audits have revealed vulnerabilities Oversee and support the implementation and audit of Air Canada SOPs, ensuring compliance with IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA), Safety Management Systems (SMS), and other applicable standards, ensuring Safety First, AlwaysBuild strong relationships and collaboration with internal and external Stakeholders Responsible for supporting Management and Ground Handlers for safety, security, and customer service activities within responsible region.Assumes the leadership of the operation of the respective station/region, SMS and other applicable authorities including a strong partnership with the safety organization.Ensures that station/region airport operations are aligned with corporate/branch/regional strategies, safety and business plans, policies, organizational structure, goals, responsibilities and metrics.Ensures managers share a common understanding and commitment to Air Canada corporate, branch and local goals. Responsible for supporting Management and Ground Handlers for safety, security, and customer service activities within responsible region.Interfaces with other branches, departments and suppliers to meet airport customer experience and operational requirements.Ensures health & safety, security and service standards are observed, monitored and practiced consistently, including emergency response and environmental plans.Ensures that adequate material, human and financial resources are made available and appropriately allocated in support of all corporate safety, security, environmental, quality, SIMS, branch and business unit, and occupational safety and health objectives.Completes all individually assigned duties and responsibilities as prescribed in the station’s and/or region’s safety plan.Follows document retention guidelines.Complies with SMS management responsibilities.Ensures effective management of the region.Establishes and maintains a professional relationship with representative union(s).
QualificationsDemonstrated ability to develop and implement action plans that achieve objectives.Experience motivating and coaching management teams to success.Strong leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.At least 5 years of experience in airline management, preferably in airport operations.Bachelors degree in a relevant field such as business administration or aviation/business-related.Ability to work under pressure and handle stressful situations.Knowledge of SOPs and experience in a unionized environment.Ability to obtain a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC / SIDA), including authorization to drive airport vehicles
