Do you want the chance to shape and influence Icelandair’s live operations? Icelandair seeks an experienced professional to lead our Operations Control Center (OCC) at Icelandair’s headquarters in Hafnarfjordur.

Icelandair‘s Operations Control Center (OCC) is responsible for managing the flight schedule within the seven-day operational window and independently and in real time makes decisions to ensure the safe, efficient and reliable operation of the flight schedule.

The Manager OCC leads a cross-functional team of experts, responsible for the day-to-day operation of Icelandair’s network.

We are looking for someone who has strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, inspire, and develop teams in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

Key responsibilities:

• Day-to-day management of the OCC
• Directly manage a team of Duty Managers, including shift plans, vacation planning, and ensure the OCC is correctly resourced
• Fostering a healthy work culture and promoting a positive work environment
• Promote and implement industry best practices within the OCC through close collaboration with other teams
• Identify and drive initiatives to improve OCC efficiency, communication and decision-making
• Develop and implement training and development plans
• Establish and promote standard processes across departments within the OCC and ensure all processes are documented within the OCC manual
• Set and monitor KPIs in collaboration with leadership that measure OCC performance and align with Icelandair’s operational goals
• Act as a key stakeholder in integrating new systems and tools
• Shaping the future vision of the department

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Education fit for purpose, e.g. relevant university degree or a degree in the aviation field such as a pilot license
• Prior experience in the aviation industry is required, OCC experience is advantageous
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, inspire, and develop teams in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Highly proficient in English and Icelandic, spoken and written
• Proficiency with operational control systems (e.g. Amadeus, Jeppesen or similar) is an asset
• Knowledge of aviation regulations and standards is an asset
