2.2.10 Heavy Maintenance Division Director

1. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP

The Heavy Maintenance Division Director reports directly to the Corporate Director of Quality Control with a dotted line report to the Director of Maintenance in matters regarding Kalitta Air (Part 121) airline maintenance. In the absence of the Heavy Maintenance Division Director, the Vice President of Maintenance, Engineering, & Procurement or Kalitta Air President shall appoint a qualified replacement.

1. BASIC FUNCTION

Planning, directing, and coordinating the heavy maintenance activities within the main maintenance base departments (for example, C-checks, D-checks, back shop support, etc) through his dotted line report to the Director of Maintenance.

1. RESPONSIBILITIES
   1. Monitoring work schedules and employment levels based on projected maintenance requirements and operational needs.
   2. Assisting the production planner in the scheduling process of current and long range aircraft maintenance work.
   3. Oversees invoice review and ensures that invoices are processed in a timely manner.
   4. Acts as an interface point of contact between Company management and maintenance base supervisors and managers regarding production concerns, workscope, or required maintenance.
   5. Continually monitors the main maintenance base system and establishes effective corrective actions to address discrepancies within that system.
   6. Evaluates and recommends facility / equipment upgrades and ensures that the main maintenance base premises are kept in a clean and orderly manner.
   7. Provides maintenance personnel with all tools necessary for the timely completion of projects within budgetary requirements.
   8. Continually monitors safety program compliance.
   9. Responsible for discipline and the quality and quantity of production personnel under his supervision.
   10. Ensure that assigned personnel complete any due/overdue training.
   11. The Heavy Maintenance Division Director is fully authorized to carry out all assigned responsibilities. This includes interviewing new job applicants, hiring, recommending disciplinary action for employees, and recommending terminating those under his supervision.
   12. Performs other duties as directed by the Corporate Director of Quality Control

NOTE: The duties and responsibilities of the Heavy Maintenance Division Director may be delegated to any qualified assistant through coordination with the Corporate Director of Quality Control ; however, such delegation does not relieve the Heavy Maintenance Division Director of the overall responsibility.
