FINANCE MANAGER – CENTRAL OVERHEADS
easyJet are currently on the look out for a Finance Manager to join our evolving operations finance team, specifically partnering the Central Overheads division. TEAM
This is a really exciting opportunity working as a key member of the Central Finance team, reporting into the Senior Finance Manager for Central Overheads, providing financial ownership for Overhead costs across several areas. This is a key business partnering role.
JOB PURPOSE
> Purpose of this role is to be the end-to-end finance contact for Central Overheads costs across several head office functions, across Finance, HR, Commercial, Marketing etc.; and provide complete financial management and support for these areas.
> The role provides a business partnership between the business owners and the financial performance of easyJet
> This role pro-actively engages with department leaders, from the Airline Management Board to Directors of various areas, as well as HR and Finance Business Partners across the company to drive strategic analysis, deliver ad hoc requests, monitor business projects, and advise on financial analysis.
> This role leads the strategic and annual planning processes for overhead costs, including Budget, Outlook and the five year plan
> The role monitors and challenges the business to provide accurate forecasts, deliver cost savings and generate analysis for potential variances to budget, risks and opportunities.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
Business Partnering:
Provides a true Business Partner framework to the leadership teams across the several areas this role will look after, ensuring that the business owners are supported with the right insight and information at all times. Strong business partnering with cross functional stakeholders including wider finance team, Operations & Commercial teams to ensure seamless communication and integrity of results and forecasts.
Financial Management:
- Budget and Outlook for overheads
- Supporting the cost programme strategy and delivery of initiatives
- Monthly Re-forecasting
- Review and comment on monthly reporting and analysis
- Business case evaluation and decision advice
- Ad-hoc projects
Business Performance and Analytical support:
> Ownership for monthly detailed analysis and insight into the costs, which can be used to drive business performance and improve the cost base
> Responsibility for accurate monthly forecasting into consolidated PBT (forecast) model
> Driving confidence in numbers and providing insight into risks and opportunities
> Driving continuous improvements in the business and finance processes
> Leads the team in developing a good understanding of overhead costs including providing insightful updates for all strategic projects and priorities.
> Contribute to budget process and pack for overheads detailing variances for presentations to senior management.
> Provides financial evaluation and acts as lead decision support finance manager for ad-hoc projects and cost saving initiatives
Financial Accounting & control:
> Supporting the accounting and control team with the month end reporting process and providing analysis detailing variances to plan and prior year and tracking the effectiveness of cost saving initiatives for overheads.
> Responsible for the production of month end reporting packs and consolidated commentary for overheads
> Supporting the financial accuracy of the Group and entity Balance sheet for all areas of responsibility; reviewing balance sheets prepared by the accounting and controls team and advising where necessary.
> Support Internal audit investigations across overheads
People Leadership, Relationships and Influence
As a member of the Core Finance team, the Central Overheads Finance Manager has responsibility for
- Maintaining effective cross functional relationships.
- Providing subject matter expertise to a diverse and demanding set of stakeholders
- Managing and mentoring junior members of the wider team
