Automation Production Supervisor
This position exists to oversee productivity, and quality expectations, and ensure production schedules are met.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of ~25 automated equipment operators on two shifts
- Follows established procedures and approved supervisory processes
- Review production schedules, engineering specifications, orders, and related information, which will dictate the manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities to be employed
- Ensure that operators are working safely, as well as meeting production, quality, and cost targets
- Administer and execute policies, procedures, and practices that affect supervised employees
- Drive improvement of operations under their purview using Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement strategies, as well as by partnering with Engineering
- Schedule production for high-quality, on-time/in-full delivery to the customer
- Play an integral role in helping Bal Seal Engineering achieve its goal of becoming an Employer of Choice, and maintaining this status, by creating a department that balances individual accountability with a fun, achievement-oriented, collegial environment
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Associates degree or higher preferred
- Understanding of Continuous Improvement practices
- Lean or Six Sigma certification preferred
Experience:
· Minimum of three (3) years of progressive and relevant supervision experience in a related field such as manufacturing, medical devices, industrial, aerospace, or automotive· Minimum of five (5) years of manufacturing process experience· Strong leadership experience in diverse manufacturing environments· Experience with complex schedulingKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent Leadership, team-building and interpersonal skills
- Ability to determine the scheduling and line placement of various assembly work orders using available business information
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and tool designs
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to solve problems at their root, independently or as part of a team
- Understanding of continuous improvement practices
- Ability to delegate duties as needed
Physical Requirements:
· Employee is occasionally required to stand· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to walk throughout the facility· This position is mainly sedentary; therefore, required to sit· Occasionally will need to bend, stoop and squat· Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifting and/or move up to 25 pounds · Required to reach with hands and arms to handle documents and products· Must be able to enter data into a computer by use of a keyboard and mouse Work Environment:
- The work environment conditions are typical of both an office and a manufacturing environment.
