Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Assistant Operations Manager is responsible for supporting the execution of key tasks within the Flight Operations department. This role ensures compliance with operational processes, assists with documentation and reporting, and coordinates functions such as crew scheduling, training administration, and Safety Management System (SMS) activities. The Assistant Operations Manager works closely with the Operations Manager to ensure smooth daily operations while adhering to Transport Canada regulations.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities- Assist the Operations Manager with daily operational tasks.
- Support the administration and coordination of crew scheduling, training programs, and SMS activities related to CAR Subparts 703, 704, and 705 aircraft operations.
- Ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping for operational procedures, training logs, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Assist in maintaining the Company Operations Manual (COM) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Liaise with internal departments and external agencies (e.g., Transport Canada, airports, third-party vendors) as required.
- Actively participate in the Company’s Safety Management System, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.
- Assist in gathering and organizing data for Flight Data Monitoring (FDM) and Line Oriented Safety Audits (LOSA).
- Work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure the efficient execution of flight operations strategies and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Perform other administrative and operational support duties as assigned.
Minimum Education, Experience and Certifications- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent.
- A valid Commercial Multi-Engine IFR License (airplanes) is required.
- Foundational knowledge of aviation regulations, airline operations, and flight procedures is an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations.
- Indigenous and Cultural Awareness Training is considered an asset.
Working Conditions- Primarily an office-based role with occasional travel required.
- May involve working various shifts to meet operational requirements.
- Ability to manage tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
- Must be physically able to perform all listed job duties.
- Travel within the airline’s network may be required.
