Job Title: Quality Inspector
Job Description
Under minimal to no supervision, the Quality Inspector will perform a variety of tasks including conducting inspections of machined and structural sheet metal parts, verifying purchased materials, documenting nonconformities, and ensuring compliance with engineering specifications.
Responsibilities
- Perform First Article, in-process, and final inspection activities of machined and structural sheet metal parts using a variety of conventional inspection tools.
- Conduct receiving inspection of purchased materials to verify conformance to purchase order requirements.
- Accurately document nonconforming material and prepare data for review and disposition.
- Fill out pertinent documentation, such as work orders and inspection reports, accurately and legibly.
- Log completed jobs in the ERP system and complete appropriate paperwork.
- Ensure parts, assemblies, and materials are undamaged and leave the quality department free of foreign objects.
- Verify pick tickets for accuracy and traceability.
- Assess customer returned material and provide feedback for proper disposition.
- Assist in training Quality Assurance inspectors.
- Carry out duties safely and responsibly while adhering to safety procedures.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in quality control, inspection, and quality assurance.
- Experience with calipers, micrometers, and visual inspection tools.
- Understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and solve problems involving concrete variables.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- High School Degree or GED; 3-5 years of related experience or equivalent combination.
- Minimum of 3 years of aerospace experience.
- Certification in machine shop technology, blueprint reading, and GD&T preferred.
- Proficient in using precision measuring instruments and interpreting blueprints.
- Knowledge of computers and Microsoft Suite.

Work Environment
The Quality Inspector will work in a team of about 10 employees, closely collaborating with the engineering team. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM. The role requires standing for 6 to 8 hours a day and may involve lifting and moving up to 40 pounds occasionally.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Greenville, SC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
