What is the position : The Quality Auditor is responsible for performing audits as required by Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) 121.373. In addition, the Quality Auditor will perform various duties to support CommuteAir’s Continuing Analysis and Surveillance program (CASS). The auditor has the authority to schedule and perform audits in accordance with the audit schedule. The auditor may demand evidence in the course of audit or investigations. The auditor may approve the closure of findings after review and acceptance of corrective action.
Essential Functions:
- Assist in the day-to-day monitoring of the operation to ensure compliance with all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations and Company policies/procedures
- Review audit schedules: initiate, plan, perform and close internal, external, and special audits
- Schedule, perform, follow-up, and close the following audits:
- On-site Contact Maintenance Providers (with additional authorization)
- Mail out Contract Maintenance Providers
- C.A.S.E. (Level III or Level II candidate required)
- Distributors & Suppliers
- Fuel Provider and Fuel Storage Vendor
- Internal company audits to support the CAMP
- Special Audits
- Maintain the audit database and trending programs
- Prepare comprehensive evaluation/audit reports
- Document, track, and trend findings and corrective actions to findings
- Perform special evaluations in response to identified trends or concerns for which management has requested an independent analysis and development of solutions for review
- Perform investigations of accidents, incidents, etc. at the request of the Quality Assurance Manager
- Conduct training in auditing, investigation, safety, and quality concepts and techniques
- Train other team members as outlined in the MTT
- Regular attendance is an essential function of all positions at CommuteAir.
- Other duties as assigned.
Authorities:
- Perform any task for which he/she has been licensed, trained, authorized, or delegated to perform.
- Perform audits for which he/she has received the proper Level certification and is authorized by the QA Manager to perform.
- Recommend maintenance and program changes to the Maintenance Program Manual.
- Authority to conduct fact finding investigations on behalf of the Company.
- Conduct specific position related training.
General requirements & qualifications:
- Hold a current Mechanic Certificate with an airframe and power plant rating (preferred)
- 3 years Aviation QA/QC Experience (preferred)Have Acceptable knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations,
- Company Manuals, Company procedures and Continuing
- Analysis and Surveillance System.
- Hold a valid state issued driver’s license.
- Have the ability to travel internationally without restrictions. Up to 80 travel is expected including air travel and driving long distances if needed.
- Ability to work independently with little oversight.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments at one time.
- System analysis and quality improvement techniques.
- Satisfactory knowledge of computer systems, applications, and other office equipment & technologies.
- Ability to working in various environments including outside during inclement weather. Must be able to climb on ladder and utilize safety equipment.
- Outstanding contract negotiation skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills, and the ability to quickly learn proprietary systems.
- Organized with the ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities regularly.
- Ability to read, speak, and understand the English language.
- Legally authorized to work in the USA.
Physical Requirements:
Medium Work:
Exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force consistently to move objects. Includes extended periods and moving about on foot regularly. Ability to reach, bend, crouch, kneel, and move about in small spaces. Ability to climb ladders and stairs occasionally.
Visual Acuity:
Machine operators with inspection- Includes inspection, close assembly, clerical administrative; This is a minimal standard for use with those whose work deals largely with preparing and analyzing data and figures, accounting, computer, extensive reading, visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, operation of machines using measuring devices, assembly or fabrication of parts
Environmental Conditions:
Both indoor and outside environmental conditions; activities occur inside and outside. May be exposed to extreme temperatures occasionally.
Able to work in a loud, noisy environment at times. PPE may be required.
