TASK DESCRIPTION:

Non-Destructive Inspection Technician (NDI) II, WG-3705-10: Inspects aerospace weapon systems components and support equipment for structural integrity using nondestructive inspection methods and performs fluid analysis. Determines test method, and prepares fluids and parts for nondestructive inspection. Interprets nondestructive inspection test results, and provides information about defects to repair center. Analyzes wear metal content on engine lubricating oil and other fluids, and recommends corrective action. Establishes radiation areas for radiographic operations. Computes and monitors personal exposure areas for radiographic operations, and monitors personnel exposure data. Performs nondestructive inspection on structures, components, and systems. Detects flaws such as cracks, de-laminations, voids, processing defects, and heat damage using penetrant, eddy current, magnetic particle, radiographic, optical, and ultrasonic test equipment. Determines metallurgical information of components according to alloy, temper, conductivity, and associated factors. Operates, maintains, and inspects nondestructive equipment. Performs operator maintenance and service inspections on shop equipment and tools. Ensures lock out and tag out procedures are accomplished prior to maintenance on equipment. Performs silver recovery functions. Handles and disposes of hazardous waste and materials. Completed initial Non Destructive Inspection Training Course and maintains basic qualification.

Skill and Knowledge:

Shall have the ability to perform Non-Destructive Inspections on various aircraft, aircraft components and sub-components in support of Organizational Level maintenance.

Task Requirements:

  1. Performs Non-Destructive Inspections in support of aircraft Organizational Level maintenance functions utilizing, Eddy Current, Liquid Penetrant, Magnetic Particles, and Ultrasonic Testing
  2. Scheduled and unscheduled maintenance support for assigned H-60 aircraft
  3. Performs inspection, disassembly, repair, servicing, TD compliance, modification, assembly, corrosion control, preservation/depreservation
  4. Maintain aircraft and aeronautical equipment to continuously support the assigned readiness posture outlined in in the activities plan and daily flight schedule
  5. Aircraft maintenance action documentation via logs, records, forms, and electronic means
  6. Use hand tools, power tools, machines, specific and general aviation test measurement and diagnostic equipment, and sets kits and outfits (SKO).
  7. Inspect aircraft components/sub components.
  8. Read and interpret manufacturers maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
  9. Confined space operations to include fuel cell entry
  10. Support Equipment (SE) operation and inspections
  11. Aircraft inspections
  12. Aircraft movement
  13. Support services
  14. Corrosion Control
  15. Preservation and depreservation
  16. General aircraft maintenance
  17. Technical Directive compliance and modifications
  18. Perform general housekeeping and organization of workstation(s), shop(s), maintenance facility to provide a clean, safe, and FOD free environment
  19. Perform shift work and/or overtime as required
  20. Perform phase, scheduled, unscheduled, periodic, and other hourly or calendar inspections.
  21. Requisition repair parts, materials, and consumable supplies through military supply system.
  22. Perform other tasks as directed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI) Level III qualification for Eddy Current, Liquid Penetrant, Magnetic Particles, and Ultrasonic Testing disciplines
  2. Five or more years’ H-60 rotary wing experience
  3. Seven or more years’ rotary wing maintenance experience
  4. Familiarity and ability to use IETMS.
  5. Four or more years’ experience with ULLS-A
  6. Basic Corrosion Control Course
  7. Advanced Corrosion Control Course/Paint and Final Finish

Basic Qualifications:

  1. Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI) Level II qualification for Eddy Current, Liquid Penetrant, Magnetic Particles, and Ultrasonic Testing disciplines
  2. Three years NDI experience
  3. Must be able to work shift schedules as required per Performance Work Statement (PWS)
  4. Must be able work work-week schedules i.e. M-F, Sn-Th or as required per PWS
  5. Must be able to pass a background check
  6. Must be able to obtain favorable National Agency Check with Written Inquires (NACI), IAW DTM-08-003 “Next Generation Common Access Card (CAC) Implementation Guidance or Secret security clearance as required for the position
  7. Must be able to climb ladders, raised platforms, and aircraft
  8. Must be able to use hand and power tools
  9. Must have dexterity to handle small parts
  10. Must be able to pass employment physicals
  11. Must be able to deploy to support off station exercises and perform other support duties if required

Compensation

$36.07/hour

Other Compensation

Employees will receive a health and welfare fringe benefit of $2.65 for every hour paid up to 40 hours per week.

Employment is contingent on (a) your ability to provide appropriate proof of your identity and eligibility to work in the United States; (b) your references and any background check being satisfactory to the Company; (c) you successfully passing a pre-employment drug test; and (d) your ability to get a required clearance by your effective start date, if needed; and (e) KAI commencing performance on this contract.
