The Maintenance Controller/Aircraft Maintenance Technician is a working member of the team and reports to the Director of Maintenance. Minimum Qualification must possess an Airframe & Power plant certificate and 5 years combined aircraft maintenance and maintenance control experience.
Duties and Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to the following:
- Reports daily aircraft status to organization via aircraft status board, CharterEasy, aircraft status email and daily operations meeting.
- Monitor and record reported maintenance defects delays.
- Works in conjunction with the Planning Department in scheduling maintenance events while the aircraft is away from the home base.
- Ensures all parts and components in conjunction with the Stores Manager are shipped to and from external maintenance facilities in a timely manner after maintenance has been accomplished and completed.
- Coordinates with maintenance and flight crews when opening or closing MELs.
- Reviews MELs and NEFs for accuracy.
- Tracks MELs and NEFs.
- Ensures that MEL and NEF tracking programs are up to date and accurate.
- Determines in conjunction with the Director of Maintenance the need to use external vendors to troubleshoot and solve MEL or NEF discrepancies while the aircraft is away from home base.
- Authorize the use of On-Call Approved Maintenance Providers to return aircraft to service as established by the Company Manual.
- Supervise On-Call Approved Maintenance Providers performing maintenance and returning Company aircraft to service as required by the Company Manual.
- Provide technical and logistical support to Maintenance and Flight Crews for active aircraft maintenance discrepancies, Minimum Equipment List, Configuration Deviation List, and NEF’s to determine proper and timely corrective action.
- Coordinate with Maintenance, Flight Dispatch, Maintenance Planning, Materials, providing current and continuing follow-up to ensure positive corrective action is made as promptly as possible for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
- Maintains and adequate tool kit and assists the maintenance department with scheduled/unscheduled maintenance events.
- Additional duties assigned by the Director of Maintenance.
