JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Power Plant Division Line Maintenance Mechanic
Department: Power Plant Line Maintenance Building 3
Reports To: Tim Hunter (Line Maintenance Manager)
POSITION PURPOSE:
To perform day to day maintenance on various types of aircraft engines as instructed by Lead.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Reading, writing, speaking and understanding the English language.
- Working with little or no supervision and accomplishing assignments with little or no rework.
- Reading and interpreting Aircraft Maintenance Manuals, Structural Repair Manuals, Safety Manuals, Illustrated Parts Catalogs, FAA regulations, Airworthiness Directives and blueprints involving various repairs, parts locations and replacement.
- Troubleshooting aircraft systems and repairing in accordance with approved data.
- Removing, replacing, any and all parts using the approved data.
- Demonstrating knowledge of aircraft systems.
- Following safety rules and procedures.
- Following FAA and company policies and procedures.
- Keeping the work area clean and neat at all times.
- Hold a certificate with an Airframe or Power Plant rating or both.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Must have high school diploma or GED.
- Must have Airframe and Power Plant License or Power Plant License.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, write and understand written English. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to give a verbal and written direction to assigned staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
The candidate must be able to work overtime, weekends and travel will be required at the need of the company.
Strong troubleshooting skills pertinent to turbine engines.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
One must be able to routinely lift 50 plus pounds, climb ladders, bend, twist and climb under engines while in engine stands.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Employees will perform duties in a (n) maintenance setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
