Assembly: Determine the sequence and perform the operations necessary to assemble complete electronic units working from released or pre-released drawings, written or verbal information and wiring diagrams. May also refer to schematics for reference information. Perform solder, crimp, and wire wrap methods as required by specification. Perform required mechanical assembly operations. Set up and operate semi-automatic and automatic insertion, resistive welding, automatic sleeve stamping, coil winding, overbraid, wire cutting, and wire wrap equipment to assemble electronic components and assemblies.

Assemble chassis assemblies and commercial equipment into electronic racks. Route and connect power and signal cables and perform ring out of wiring installation. Utilizing shop practice and a working knowledge Ohmss Law, test and troubleshoot wiring harness and tie boxes that may contain relays, resistors, and capacitors. Troubleshoot wiring errors and component failures using resistance, inductance, and capacitor meters. With Factory Engineer assistance, translate one dimensional hardline blueprint’s into three dimensional hardlines. Operate mechanical tools to cut, strip, crimp, face, and solder semi-rigid coax.

Use precision measuring tools to take measurements with a high degree of accuracy. Use a protractor and calculator. Use basic knowledge of mathematics. May work with Factory Engineer on hard-line length and shape. Perform simple tests using ohmmeter or some other continuity checking device. Test VSWR and insertion loss on hardlines. Perform rework, repair, and modification of the same level of difficulty as described herein.

Electro Mechanical:
Determine the sequence of operations to assemble, install, rework, and ring out a major unit of an electronic system by use of blueprints, general sketches, and schematic drawings, verbal and written instructions.

Perform precision fitting, assembly, and installation of electro-mechanical parts and subassemblies. Fabricate plastic and metal parts of developmental production prototype electro-mechanical components. Use precision machine operations and/or hand operations to complete the assembly or system.
