Job SummarySpecialist, Welders are responsible for the production of quality aircraft component weldments (such as engine and seat frames). They must be capable of fitting and welding complex assemblies consisting of 4130 machined components, tubing and fittings and must be able to do so holding tight tolerances. Attention to detail required. Specialists will be expected to read and interpret engineering documents (drawings, schematics, and specifications for examples) to accomplish these activities. Familiarity with common fabrication methods in metals is expected and they will be required to use hand tools and to operate common powered, shop tools. Problem-solving and communication skills are highly valued as are communication skills and team members will need to work effectively in groups and with other departments across the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions- Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead
- Weld together metal components as specified by blue prints, diagrams, and manufacturing instructions using GTAW
- Manual weld
- Position or clamp work pieces together or assemble in jigs and work
- Prepare parts for weld including trim, deburr and clean
- Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
- Follow verbal, written, and electronic work instruction to complete tasks and record pertinent manufacturing data where
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to guide activities and ensure quality. Perform inspections of work completed and document deviations from engineering drawing.
- Follow all safety standards and policies and ensure a safe operating environment, including use of appropriate protective equipment and identification of potential safety

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion welding program or 2 years experience preferred.
- Must be able to pass required weld certification per AWS D17.1.
- Ability to work scheduled shift and hours, including overtime.

- Use of hand and power tools as required.
- Follow all safety procedures.
- Ability to demonstrate sound judgement and effective communication skills (written and verbal).
