Job Summary:
To assemble, install, rig, and rework mechanical aircraft systems. May be required to work under the
guidance of higher-grade operators and assist lower grade operators.
Job Responsibilities:
• Works in accordance with airplane order, blueprints, engineering specifications, standard
procedures, oral and written instructions to perform any combination of the following duties with a
minimum amount of supervision.
o Performs any layout, math computation or planning necessary to assemble and install a
variety of major aircraft structures and assemblies, landing gear systems, props, and
optional equipment installations.
o Installs and/or reworks a variety of engine accessories such as oil and fuel pumps,
generator, hydraulic and vacuum pumps.
• Performs a wide variety of mechanical operations to regulate and adjust travel on all of the
aircraft controllable surfaces such as rudder, flap and elevator. Adjusts all related hydraulic or
electrical components. Uses aircraft mechanics hand tools such as screwdrivers, torque and
impact wrenches, pliers, and hammers plus sheet metal tools such as rivet gun, drill motor,
portable dimpling equipment, bucking bars, file, and some measuring devices such as scale.
• Required to repair and rework sheet metal parts and assemblies involving operations such as
cutting, filing, drilling, countersinking, fitting, shimming, riveting, and bucking.
• Required to assist higher grade employees in the use of functional testing equipment to run
functional tests (setup, operate).
• Performs other related duties as required.

Job Requirements:

Education:
Requires a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification, plus
knowledge of aircraft assembly and general accepted aircraft practices.

Experience:
Requires a minimum of 1-year experience by holding the Aircraft Assem Mechanic C classification along
with completion of AAM checklist or 2 years of aviation experience from one of the following categories:
final assembly (line assembler or assem/installer (A&I)), sheet metal assembly, wing assembler or control
surface rigger. Also requires the successful completion of the Textron Aviation blueprint course.
