Position Overview:
The A&P Mechanic supports aircraft maintenance operations within a Part 145 Repair Station. This role performs inspection, repair, and troubleshooting tasks as directed by the Lead Mechanic or Maintenance Supervisor while ensuring all work meets regulatory and company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out maintenance, inspections, and repairs in accordance with FAA Part 145 Repair Station procedures
- Perform scheduled, unscheduled, and troubleshooting tasks on aircraft such as Dash-8 aircraft
- Conduct detailed inspections including preflight, postflight, and periodic to confirm continued airworthiness
- Repair, remove, and install components including engines, landing gear, flight controls, hydraulic systems, and basic avionics
- Complete assigned work efficiently, within established labor hour budgets and time constraints
- Maintain accurate documentation of all maintenance activities in compliance with FAA requirements, company RSQM/AS9100 standards, DCMA 8210-1D, and manufacturer technical publications
- Follow all safety practices, tool-control guidelines, FOD prevention procedures, and equipment inspection requirements
- Stay current on applicable Airworthiness Directives (ADs), Service Bulletins (SBs), and technical updates
- Collaborate with pilots, engineers, and maintenance personnel to support operational and dispatch needs
- Provide technical assistance or guidance when required
- Review system operation descriptions and approved maintenance data prior to troubleshooting or corrective actions
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to a clean-as-you-go standard
- Ensure all tools and equipment are serviceable and calibrated, when required, prior to use
- Complete all assigned tasks using approved data from manufacturers or FAA-accepted documentation
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Program Manager
- Occasional travel may be required
