• Wed–Sat or Sun–Wed, 4:00PM–2:30AM
Aerotek is supporting an aviation maintenance client in Rockford, IL that is hiring A&P Lead Technicians. This is a hands‑on leadership role supporting heavy maintenance on commercial aircraft.
What You’ll Do- Lead and direct a team of mechanics (up to 12–15 techs).
- Set work priorities and ensure tasks are completed correctly and on time.
- Perform and sign off heavy maintenance tasks and rigging.
- Ensure work meets quality and safety standards.
What You Need- Active A&P license (required).
- Leadership or supervisory experience (required).
- This can come from several backgrounds, including:
- Military crew chief experience + A&P license
- Civilian aircraft maintenance lead/supervisor roles
- Technicians who’ve held supervisory roles and then earned their A&P
- 2+ years of aircraft maintenance experience (open to military with A&P + QA/inspection).
Work Environment- Large, modern commercial aircraft facility.
- Work is performed inside a hangar; temperatures can vary seasonally.
- Primarily supporting 737 heavy maintenance.
