We are seeking an experienced A&P Mechanic for field maintenance of S-61 helicopters utilized in firefighting support, primarily across the West Coast and western United States. This position includes travel and lodging arrangements with paid travel time, alongside per-diem allowances for meals and incidentals. The operational season runs from mid-March through October, with the option to continue working in the hangar during the off-season.

• Perform field maintenance on S-61 helicopters used for firefighting support.
• Conduct inspections, repairs, and troubleshooting of aircraft and airframe components.
• Utilize A&P license to ensure compliance with aviation safety standards.
• Maintain helicopters to gain USFS card eligibility for deployment.
• Operate company vehicles safely while maintaining a clean driving record.

• A&P license with at least 2 years of aircraft maintenance experience.
• 3+ months of helicopter maintenance experience.
• Proficiency in inspection, repair, and troubleshooting of helicopters.
• Ability to operate with basic tools in a travel bag.

• Familiarity with Eurocopter and rotary aircraft maintenance.
• Eligibility for FAA DOT safety-sensitive hire.
• Clean driving record for operating company vehicles.

Experience a structured 12 on/12 off rotational work schedule. During field deployments at USFS firetanker bases, work weeks may range from 60 to 80 hours. The initial 2 months will be based at headquarters in the hangar and shops for training and preparation. All travel, lodging, and expenses are provided by the client.

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $98000.00/yr.
