Parker Meggitt, a recent addition to Parker Hannifin, is a global leader in the Commercial and Military Aerospace spanets, specializing in a wide range of products including power generation and conversion systems, magnetics, and sensors for extreme environments. Located in Milwaukie, OR (in the Greater Portland Area), this site is within the Fire Safety & Power Systems Division (FSPSD) and is a key supplier in select aircraft and ground vehicle spanets, spanning business jet, narrow body, wide body, and fighter jet platforms as well as military ground vehicles. We work directly with some of the largest aerospace companies in the world, including Airbus, Boeing, Embraer, Lockheed Martin, and Raytheon, among others.

MECOP Intern Program Cohort – Spring/Summer 2026

Provides support in the areas of business, science, technology, and mathematics.

Under supervision researches, analyzes, designs, and tests component parts, processes, or systems to develop new and/or improve core products/processes. Under supervision, develops and recommends solutions for technical/business project assignments using fundamental principles of mechanical, electrical, packaging, or other business, science, technology, or mathematics disciplines.

Essential Functions:

  • Under supervision collaborates in a team environment, develops assigned projects and specific performance requirements. 
  • Depending on discipline, may investigate product development factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, strength-weight efficiency, contractual specification requirements, cost-defining recommendations, and change proposals.
  • Develops reports and documentation as assigned.
  • Conducts routine analyses and/or tests to evaluate product designs, methods, materials or processes and completes required technical documentation by applying engineering principles and company standards, and generating reports, procedures, or change proposals as required.
  • Provides technical information for review with product and/or manufacturing engineering, design review teams or other functional teams. Consistently applies established practices, standards, and documentation methods. Contributes to supporting documentation for procedures and technical reports.

Qualifications:

  • Currently an actively enrolled undergraduate student (accepted into and active in MECOP) in good standing with and pursuing a bachelor’s degree, preferably in a field related to internship.
  • Ability to communicate status of assigned tasks and actions taken with clarity and precision.
  • Ability to work under general supervision and instruction regarding the scope of assignments
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals and reports. Ability to present findings and information in both formal meetings and informally within OECO teams.
  • Ability to adhere to pre-established schedule, including start/stop time and break/lunch schedule.
  • Ability to consistently meet attendance standards for regular, reliable, predictable, full-time attendance.
