Parker Meggitt, a recent addition to Parker Hannifin, is a global leader in the Commercial and Military Aerospace spanets, specializing in a wide range of products including fire and smoke detection systems, extinguishing systems, bleed air overheat detection systems, actuators, rudder pedal assemblies, pumps, fuel gauging systems, and high-temperature cables. Located in Simi Valley, CA, this site is within the Fire Safety & Power Systems Division (FSPSD) and is a key supplier in select energy spanets, particularly in nuclear gas analyzers and nuclear containment vessel penetration cables. We work directly with some of the largest aerospace companies in the world, including Airbus, Boeing, Embraer, and Lockheed Martin, among others.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Finance Intern provides assistance on routine problems to the Finance Managers. Gains an overall knowledge and technical proficiency in financial reporting with departmental objectives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Participates in developing and maintaining documentation for processes and procedures
Works to gain overall knowledge and proficiencies with finance tasks and processes
Supports month-end tasks, following through to completion
Responsible for supporting unit initiatives
Learns and understands systems and processes within a regulated industry
Assists Finance Managers with managing and execution of daily targets
Other responsibilities as assigned
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary
Education and Experience
- High school diploma required.
- Must be enrolled in and currently completing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in related field.
- 0-2 years of relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree at an accredited university
- Strong word processing and/or data entry skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated strong work ethics and ability to drive tasks to completion
- Strong attention to detail, good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize with changing situations.
- Ability to use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems.
- Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to drive tasks to completion.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
