About the role

In this position you will analyses and determine warranties & guarantees stipulated through Manufacturers Product Support Assurance Agreements, exclusively negotiated and executed Product Support letters, Maintenance support Programs, Agreements and Contracts for optimum benefits.

You will also ensure recovery of remedies by implementing the process and raising claims to achieve maximum benefits in form of credit notes and/or cost savings.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

• Analysis and identify all claimable items arising from special concession, agreement, and/or contract negotiated between Qatar Airways and Aircraft/Engine/APU Manufacturers and raise the warranty claim in a timely manner.
• Endorsement of component warranties, quotations, commitments, industry support factors per agreements
• and SBs/SILs/ADs/CNs in Engineering Orders / ESWCs / CMAs for approval and tracking for recovery related to aircraft and engines.
• Evaluate the Engineering Reliability Reports, Work packs and Non-Routine Cards in daily and scheduled maintenance checks of the fleet for possible warranty coverage.
• Evaluate the Engine/APU shop findings report during shop visits for all claimable issues, life limited parts
• (LLP) and raise recovery claim accordingly.
• Review, establish Engine/APU Guarantees processing mechanism and raise recovery claims per
• Manufacturer’s General Terms Agreement on various types of guarantees.
• Evaluation of technical contracts and agreements related to clauses in warranty terms and conditions and to ensure process implementation for claims recovery.
• Investigate on incidents related to Aircraft/Engine/APU removals, AOG / delays under warranty for recovery
• claiming purpose as per terms and conditions of related contracts.
• Discuss, negotiate with the vendors and repair agencies to ensure that all eligible technical warranty claims are promptly settled in favor of Qatar Airways.
• Coordinate within the group by periodic reviews to assure correct procedure implemented to recover the most from claims raised.
• Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of department

About you

Essential

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with minimum of 4 years of job-related experience.
• Degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics Engineering
• Experience in Warranty, Engineering, Engineering Planning, Engineering Maintenance departments in an Airline /MRO.
• Performed activities as Warranty Engineer, Development Engineer, Planning Engineer or License
• Aircraft Maintenance Engineer in Airline /MRO. Preferred
• Good knowledge in Aircraft and Engine systems of Qatar Airways aircraft fleet.
• Good understanding of Aircraft, Engines and other maintenance support contracts/agreements.
• Have strong engineering analytical skills.
• Must be assessed for leadership skills.
• Managerial skills - Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow. Strong mentoring and coaching skills. Ability to train and develop subordinates skills. Ability to foster teamwork among team members.
• Excellent in contract interpretation, negotiations skills.

Preferred

• Post graduate degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
• 7 years relevant experience.
• Extensive knowledge of and working experience with various supports contracts such as Product Support Agreements, Supplier Support Conditions.
