Job Description SummaryWe are searching for a design engineer to join the Assembly and Testing team. A Tooling engineer is responsible to provide engineering solutions and design, improve or re-design Special Tooling need among others to assemble, disassemble, test and transport Aviation Commercial Engines or engine piece parts.He/She collaborates globally to gather information from main stakeholders such as assembly and overhaul shops and engine hardware engineers to satisfy Customer´s needs. He/She develops secure, functional and ergonomic mechanisms while on the same path shall perform analyses to evaluate the developed designs using engineering design principles, General Electric Aviation Standards and particular procedures. The Special Tooling design engineer performs to ensure that the tooling program schedules are met per engineering planningA successful tooling design engineer should demonstrate excellent attention to details, ability to propose, discuss and manage different solutions and be able to manage the time efficiently. Outstanding tooling engineers should be deadline driven, demonstrate interpersonal skills, use multiple internal sources to make timely decisions and consistently produce high quality designs.Job Description
Qualifications
- Develop and execute designs such as mechanism to torque, assemble, disassemble, lift, transport, protect, inspect or test of commercial engine hardware. This work would include mechanical and/or electrical engineering skills for all products.
- Assess the designs against CE requirements, carry out Stack-up analyses and perform simple and complex Stress analyses by documenting through hand calculations or using Finite Element Analysis.
- Awareness level for using CAD such as Unigraphics/Vismockup/Spaceclaim to analyze and evaluate interfaces between a variety of components.
- Strong communication ready to collaborate globally and internally to ensure the development of secure and functional designs.
- Time management and planning for scheduling meetings with stakeholders and internal along the design process in timely manner.
- Awareness of conventional manufacturing processes to ensure the producibility of tool components while focused on designs to reduce time and manufacturing cost; be able to provide technical support during the tooling manufacturing cycle.
Requirements
- Experience in the Engineering/Technology & Mechanical Component.
- Studying Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering. 6 Months to graduate
- Sound understanding on mechanical design, stress analysis, FEA, strength of materials, mechanisms, stack-ups.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan and execute programs.
- English skills: Must be able to maintain a simple conversation in English.
