Role Summary
* Your role is to support ground software development within mission-critical command and control applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, implement, and optimize software solutions that meet engineering, customer, and regulatory requirements while ensuring technical excellence and program success. You will contribute to software architecture, participate in agile development activities, resolve complex issues, and support continuous improvement in tools, processes, and performance metrics. Education & Job Requirements
* Must have
* A Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, chemistry, or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
* A minimum of five (5) years of related software development experience or advanced technical education combined with relevant experience.
* A minimum of three (3) years of experience coding and unit testing in Java, including the Spring Framework.
* A minimum of three (3) years of experience in Python scripting.
* A minimum of three (3) years of experience with agile development methodologies and structured software development processes.
* Knowledge of software lifecycles, architecture, requirements, and structured development practices.
* The ability to debug and resolve complex technical issues.
* The ability to obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance, with clearance required prior to start. Preferred Skills
* You will have
* A Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
* Experience with IntelliJ IDE, Linux command line, configuration-management tools, JMS, SOAP and REST web services, MySQL databases, Jenkins, AWS, and Docker.
* Experience with command-and-control applications, orbital-analysis tools, and performance-critical software.
* Knowledge of host environments, including processors, operating systems, and networks, and the ability to integrate and troubleshoot software components.
* Knowledge of software architecture and design methodologies, and the ability to synthesize architectures that meet system requirements and constraints.
* Knowledge of software development processes aligned with internal and industry standards, best practices, and deployment guidelines.
* Knowledge of implementation, validation, and verification practices that ensure development quality, performance, and safety. Job Duties & Functions

* Review, analyze, and translate customer requirements into initial software design.
* Develop, maintain, enhance, and optimize software products and functionalities for system integration.
* Develop, document, and maintain architecture, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and software designs.
* Participate in agile development activities, including planning, reviews, and customer-support meetings.
* Debug and resolve issues to ensure software efficiency, reliability, and performance.
* Handle user inquiries, troubleshoot technical issues, and analyze feedback to implement solutions.
* Apply current and emerging technologies, frameworks, and regulatory changes to software development practices.
* Develop, establish, and improve software processes, tools, and key performance metrics aligned with organizational and industry benchspans.
* Execute and document research and development tasks related to software solutions.
* Advise on software domains, system-specific issues, development processes, and regulatory requirements.
* Perform software project management and software-supplier-management activities.
* Monitor and evaluate software-team performance and supplier performance to ensure compliance with project plans and industry standards.
