General Responsibilities:
- Engineering deliverables covering the full lifecycle of the Program as required by Program Scope
- Responsibility for technical delivery of complex work packages, providing leadership to cross-functional Teams within an IPT framework
- Responsibility to manage requirements and execute to budget and schedule within the assigned Project scope
- Define and deliver the customer requirements and definition for the project. Closely follow change with eye for technical and contractual impacts
- Provide technical interface with Customers maintaining a pro-active Customer-driven attitude. Develop Customer relationships based on transparency and trust
- Effective communication across different levels of the Organization to ensure alignment at working and management level
- Responsible for the technical deliverables supporting Programme and Gate Reviews
- Collaborate closely with the Engineering Manager Projects to ensure delivery
- To support process and procedures in line with signatory delegation of AP1020 & Collins DOA.
- Check and sign technical documentation
- Travel to other CA or Customer sites will be required depending on Programme needs
- Comply with Engineering processes and methodologies
Planning and Project Management:
- Responsible to define schedule and resource requirements for complex work packages
- Communication of tasks to cross-functional IPT setting clear expectations and managing execution on-time and to-quality
- Responsible to track complex work packages for schedule and cost
- Understanding of risk and opportunity (R&O) in plans and effective communication of the R&O balance within the IPT as well as within the Management structure
- Effective collaboration with all departments (e.g. Programmes, Supply Chain, Operations etc.) to ensure delivery of all relevant work packages
- Keep action trackers, lessons learnt and risk registers up to date with technical and Engineering project risks and issues.
- Maintain Project KPI and report Project status to Customer and internal stakeholders
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Personal Attributes:
- The successful candidate will be a self-starter with strong customer-focus and a mind-set to take on challenges and create solutions
- Excellent communicator with the ability to empower and motivate Team members to enable Project delivery
- Good organizational skills with the ability to juggle a variety of tasks through understanding the appropriate level of detail.
Skills and Experience:
- Engineering degree or equivalent experience
- Good understanding of mechanical/ aerospace engineering principles
- Good understanding of Product Design within an Aerospace environment including aspects such as structured Design Reviews, Certification, Requirements and Configuration Management etc
- Working knowledge of 3D CAD packages with the ability to interrogate designs using 3D models
- Experience in delivery of Engineering Work Packages showing at least some degree of technical leadership
- Experience in the design of Products used in Aircraft Interiors is desirable
- Proven Project management Experience
