Job Description:
Varstaff is searching for a Material Review Board Design/Liaison Engineer (Structural) for a position in Seattle Washington.
All levels & All shifts.
Aerospace, Aircraft, or Launch Vehicle experience.
Multiple locations.
Responsibilities:
- Document non-conformance tags for spacecraft structures
- Analyze variations to part print specifications which affect part form, fit, and function
- Evaluate and provide a course of action regarding the ultimate disposition of the parts
- Evaluates areas of non-conformance regarding defects arising during the manufacturing process and as compared to the product definition requirements as defined by the drawings
- Perform design engineering analysis of discrepant machined parts manufactured in an aerospace manufacturing facility
- For example, it may be used “as-is” with no corrective action, reworked to a condition that is acceptable for use, repaired, or scrapped
- This analysis will include performing tolerance stacks, stress, metallurgical, aerodynamic, dynamic, NDT, and heat transfer analysis
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a B.S. Degree in mechanical, aerospace, or civil engineering
- 2-5 years of experience with aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicle.
Desired:
- Previous experience with new aircraft or spacecraft fabrication
- Previous experience with aircraft MRO
