Manufacturing Engineer
35 per hour
Morson are currently supporting one of our Aerospace engine suppliers for a Manufacturing Engineer vacancy based in Burnley. You will be responsible for supporting the production process, introducing continuous improvement projects, contributing to rate ready actions such as line rebalancing and HPU reduction as well as working with MRB in their treatment of concessions. Due to the nature of the work we’re ideally looking for an experienced Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineer that has worked within Aerospace, Defence, Automotive or similar high level engineering industry.
We’re offering this role on a contract basis, however the end date is open ended. You may be required to work on different production lines within the facility, so start and finish times may vary during the duration of your employment. We can offer this role at a rate of 35 per hour inside IR35.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that the performance of the production meets defined quality, Safety, cost and delivery targets
- Define manufacturing processes to specifications with ergonomic risks in mind
- Validate standard operating procedures, work instruction sheets, quality control points and methods of inspection
- Ensure that effective plant, equipment and tooling strategies are in place
- Create routes, BOMS, master layouts, tooling requests, data sheets, CM’s and drawing change requests
- Provide expert guidance to suppliers
- Pilot development projects and ensure compliance with the production schedule and cost targets
- Identify & escalate any risks or concerns in relation to product or people safety
Experience:
- Experience within production, process or manufacturing engineering.
- Knowledge of metallic and composite assemblies
- Manufacturing Engineering experience from leading edge environments
- Able to communicate effectively with production staff, suppliers and senior management
- Negotiation skills
- Problem solving abilities
- Ability to identify and gauge the importance of deviations in product and the consequences
Desirable Experience
- Experience of Assembly manufacturing engineering in an Aerospace supplier
- Experience of New product introduction or quality management
- Exposure to factory 4.0, smart tooling, R&D or continuous improvement deliveries
Recognising the RESTRICTED nature of the work, suitable candidates will be BPSS cleared or eligible for this level of clearance before starting on site
