You will be the Manufacturing Engineer for the Precision Fires Program Manufacturing Engineering team supporting the HIMARS Program.



What You Will Be Doing
As the Manufacturing Engineer, you will act as the Production Operations Point of Contact to various suppliers and Lockheed Martin make sites to proactively identify and work issues ahead of production impact. Your responsibilities will include:
• Leading Production Line Validations (PLVs) at Lockheed Martin and supplier sites
• Performing Make or Buy analysis, which may include trade studies
• Proposal support
• Submitting design Change Requests (CRs) and reviewing engineering Change Notices (CNs).

This position typically requires 2 years of professional experience

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline
• Manufacturing background, shop floor experience preferred
• Ability to obtain a security clearance
• Ability to liaison between LM Subcontractors, internal disciplines, and Production Operations
• Ability to interpret drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, product/performance specifications, and other systems integration technical data
• Proficient in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally
• Experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) modeling
Desired Skills:
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve technical/process issues varying from basic to complex
• Strong project/time management skills
Experience in design for manufacturing/assembly or design to cost
• Experience in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Knowledge of the SAP MRP production control system
• Experience working with Government customers
• Self-motivated, performs work with the general direction
• Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical personnel
• Earned Value Management and/or Control Account Manager (CAM) experience
• Experience with proposals/estimating
• Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
