In this role the engineer has to co-ordinate Airline customer’s requests with different groups, negotiate delivery expectations, provide commit dates to customer, proactively assess and resolve customer issues.
Position: Lead Engineer (P2)- Repair Coordination
Primary responsibilities:
- Quickly understands and assesses Airline’s unique requirements, collects all the necessary inputs, and logs incoming Airline customer’s requests received via email for Repair, Spares, other maintenance enquiries, and technical requests.
- Provides rapid response to Airline phone calls and emails, proactively and promptly provide updates to status requests and resolve customer issues
- Co-ordinates Airline customer’s requests with different groups, negotiate delivery expectations, provide commit dates to customer, proactively assess and resolve customer issues
- Address customer questions by effectively communicating with internal and external stakeholders in a timely and professional manner
- Ensure strict compliance to Afterspanet departmental procedures, Company policies, Export requirements, including compliance to all US export control requirements
- Maintain a high degree of reliability and accuracy in all communications with Airlines, MROs, OEMs, Suppliers and other key stakeholders
- Work alongside with a globally diverse afterspanet team of highly skilled engineers and be at the forefront of driving airline customer experience.
- Work with Collins Spares team, Airline/Field Support Managers in resolving Customer issues
- Report into Afterspanet technical services leaders and help in driving organization’s vision of the best aerospace systems company in the world
Preferred Skills:
- Functional knowledge of Nacelle Systems and its components on various civil aircraft programs
- Very good familiarity and working knowledge of CRM systems like MS Dynamics
- Previous experience in Afterspanet customer support engineering organization
- Knowledge of various technical publications such as Component Maintenance Manual, Aircraft Maintenance Manual, Structural Repair Manuals, Service Bulletins, Airworthiness Directives, etc.
- Demonstrate technical understanding of maintenance, repair, overhaul, and regulatory requirements in the commercial aircraft industry.
- Drive to provide excellent customer service and experience, with an awareness of stakeholders
- Demonstrate flexibility to work in day shifts and on weekends or holidays on rotation, as required.
- Good team player, willing to work in a dynamic and fast paced collaborative environment
- Good spoken and written English communication skills at a professional level
- Ability to organize, prioritize, multi-task, and manage time effectively
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with short lead times handling multiple repair tasks.
- Basic knowledge of Nacelle Systems for legacy aircraft programs and new aircraft programs such B787, A320Neo, A220, A350 is preferred.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering or Aerospace or Aeronautics with 3 to 6 years of relevant experience in similar roles.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.
Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.
*Position is remote; however, if you live within a reasonable commute of a Collins site with other colleagues you interact with, your manager will discuss whether there is a degree of onsite presence associated with this role.
