Job Description SummaryThe Lead Engineer – RISE Program will report to the Fan Advanced Mechanical Design Manager in Cincinnati, OH. This engineer will have potential to become a future leader in composites. The role will impact quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of GE Aerospace’s Fan Advanced Mechanical Design (AMD) Team and will have significant input into the teams priorities. The role has some autonomy, with operational judgement required under the guidance of experienced team members. Roles and Responsibilities
- Conceptual or theoretical activities related to the principles of engineering, physics, and materials science for the design, analysis, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems. Includes the analysis of static (structural) and dynamic (rotor dynamics, vibrations) behavior of mechanical systems
- Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
- In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
- Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in disciplinary engineering and science

- Experience in aeromechanics, composites design or turbomachinery airfoil design.
- Experience with hardware design and engineering drawings.
- Experience with computer-aided design and stress analysis software.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.

- Established project management skills.
