Position Summary:
Responsible for determining and developing production processes for manufacturing operations consistent with team objectives. The Engineer Intern will be working 30-40 hour work weeks at Parker Hannifin’s Slater, MO facility.
Scope/Supervision and Interaction:
- Interacts with product engineering, manufacturing and quality functions.
Reports to the engineering leader while providing technical direction in automation, plant layout, equipment, assembly, machining and other manufacturing concerns.
Essential Functions:
Under the direction of the Team Leader, utilize judgment in performance of duties in conjunction with company policies, procedures, and processes.
- Analyze and organize production operations, routings, and sequences.
- Investigate manufacturing difficulties and determine corrective procedures.
Assist with various related engineering functions, e.g., automation, design, standardization of parts, costs reduction, and quality control.
- Design assembly fixturing gaging, test equipment and general fixturing for secondary operations.
- Develop new processes for new or improved products.
Work on projects improving Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost
Implement lean manufacturing ideas and principles on the production floor
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Classified as a Sophomore, Junior or Senior in college credits and enrolled in a 4-year Degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology or related degree
- 0-1 year of experience preferred.
