Position Summary
Responsible for determining and developing production processes for manufacturing operations consistent with team objectives. The Quality Engineer Intern will be working 30–40-hour work weeks at Parker Hannifin’s Slater, MO facility. Interacts with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain functions. Reports to the Quality Manager while providing technical direction in testing process & procedure development and other manufacturing concerns related to quality.

- Under the direction of the Quality Manager, utilize judgment in performance of duties in conjunction with company policies, procedures, and processes.
- Analyze production operations, routings, and sequences to develop test plans and procedures.
- Investigate manufacturing difficulties and determine corrective and preventive procedures to prevent recurrence.
- Assist with various related quality functions, e.g., incoming inspection, supplier non-conformances (NCM) customer returns and calibration.
- Participate in Quality and Manufacturing High Performance Team (HPT) activities.
- Work with Engineering on test processes for new or improved products.
- Work on projects improving Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
- Implement Parker Lean System & Six Sigma manufacturing ideas and principles on the production floor.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Classified as a Sophomore, Junior or Senior in college credits and enrolled in a 4-year Degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology or related degree, with an interest in Quality Assurance/Control.
- Statistical experience preferred (use of Minitab software), with knowledge or an interest in Six Sigma principles.
- 0-1 year of experience preferred.
