About the Role:
Ensures the technical compliance and all technical documentation and activities are carried out in accordance with ISO 17025 requirements and provides technical support to Supply Chain and Compliance and Safety departments with relation to externally calibrated equipment and vendors.
Operational
- Carries out calibration and repair of Electrical and Mechanical test equipment to meet Qatar Airways tooling calibration requirement.
- Ensures the adequacy of test and measurement equipment suitable for the scope of the Calibration Lab to ensure compliance with ISO 17025 standard.
- Ensures the proper accommodation, environment and safety for all operational calibration activities to ensure compliance with ISO 17025 standard.
- Prepares calibration, preventative maintenance, and intermediate check schedules for calibration equipment to maintain its serviceability and compliance with ISO 17025.
- Prepares and approves tools Calibration Certificates to meet ISO 17025 requirement.
- Creates, maintains and validate measurement tolerances for all required parameters to ensure compliance with ISO 17025 requirement.
- Responsible for method validation and creation of calibration methods to maintain compliance with manufacturer’s instructions and regulatory requirements.
- Identifies training needs and assess staff readiness for authorization of calibration staff to meet customer requirements.
- Identifies areas for capability enhancement and provides technical assistance to the Calibration Manager for new capabilities to meet business requirements.
- Create and maintain a database with multiple part numbers to define a suitable external vendor to provides support to Supply Chain Repair Group.
- Provides subject matter expertise to support the Compliance and Safety group for the audit of external calibration vendors.
- Collaborate with Receiving Inspection team to ensure that received calibration certificates are in compliance with QR requirements.
- Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.

Qualifications
About you
- High School Qualification / Vocational Qualification /Diploma or Equivalent (Type of Diploma Based on Role) with Minimum 5 years of job-related experience OR Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 4 years of job-related experience
- Practical experience in the technical field within a similar work area
Essential
- Calibration Laboratory experience of which the last 3 years must have been in an ISO 17025 Accredited Laboratory within an aviation environment.
- Extensive understanding of Measurement Uncertainty, and the ability to create complex calculations to define the labs best measurement capability across all disciplines.
- In depth knowledge regarding calibration principles across multiple disciplines.
- Experience of auditing ISO 17025 accredited calibration laboratories
- In depth knowledge of the requirements of ISO 17025.
- Ability to interpret equipment specifications to determine calibration requirements.
- Ability to meet varying and time constrained workshop production targets.
