Morson Edge is recruiting for a Licensed B1.3 Base Maintenance Engineer to support rotary-wing maintenance operations at Staverton.
This opportunity sits within an established Part-145 maintenance environment supporting the EC135 and H145 fleet. Working within a highly experienced engineering team, you will play a key role in delivering planned and emergent base maintenance activities, supporting aircraft availability across critical aviation operations.
With a 75.00 per hour Ltd rate, Outside IR35 status, and the option of a 4-6-4 rotation pattern, this is the sort of contract that rarely stays available for long.
The Role
You will support Base Maintenance activities, aircraft modifications, component workshop activities, and aircraft installations, ensuring all maintenance is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with regulatory requirements.
This is a certifying role requiring strong rotary-wing experience, excellent technical judgement, and a thorough understanding of UK aviation regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out Base Maintenance activities on EC135 and H145 aircraft
- Certify maintenance in accordance with Part-145 requirements
- Conduct inspections, repairs, modifications, and fault rectification
- Work closely with Supervisors, Certifying Staff, and Maintenance Co-ordinators
- Identify maintenance requirements and request appropriate parts, materials, and equipment
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with approved procedures and regulations
- Report technical discrepancies and findings to engineering management
- Support aircraft availability and operational requirements
- Assist with Line Maintenance activities where required
- Support continuous improvement, safety, and lean working initiatives
- Produce engineering handover reports as required
Requirements
Essential
- EASA / UK CAA Part-66 B1.3 Aircraft Maintenance Licence
- Category C Licence
- Strong rotary-wing maintenance background
- Extensive Base Maintenance and modification experience
- Thorough understanding of aircraft airframe and engine systems
- Strong knowledge of Part-145 requirements and UK CAA regulations
- Experience applying SMS and Human Factors principles
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Desirable
- EC135 Type Rating
- BK117D2 / H145 Type Rating
- Category B2 Licence
- HEMS or Police Aviation experience
Experience
- Minimum 5 years UK aviation industry experience
- Strong rotary-wing operational maintenance background
- Experience supporting aircraft technical operations within regulated environments
- Proven ability to work within safety-critical maintenance organisations
