What Youll Get to DoReporting directly to the Base Engineer and taking direction from the on-shift Crew Chief, the Calm Air Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Apprentice Co-op program will allow students participating to gain hands-on experience working alongside skilled professionals in a dynamic and fast-paced aviation environment. In this role, you will assist with inspections, repairs, and routine maintenance on aircraft, ensuring safety and compliance with industry regulations. Under the guidance of experienced engineers, you will develop technical skills, enhance problem-solving abilities, and gain valuable insight into aircraft systems and maintenance procedures. This opportunity will provide you with real-world exposure to the aviation industry and working as an AME in a northern environment, helping you build a strong foundation for a successful career in aircraft maintenance.Carry out line and heavy maintenanceHandle daily flight snagsSeat/Cargo configurationsGeneral duties related to hangar and equipment upkeepDe-icingGSE Repairs and ServicingParticipation in the Safety Management SystemMaintain all assigned training required within job roleOther duties as assignedHours of WorkShift work is required and may include mornings/afternoons, evenings, nights, and weekendsA minimum of two rotations will be based in Winnipeg, MB and a minimum of two rotations will be based in Rankin Inlet, NUSkills & Experience We Value Grade 12 diploma or equivalentCandidates must be enrolled and attending a Transport Canada approved basic training programBasic Computer skills (word, excel, office)Knowledge of an airline’s operations an assetAbility to prioritize tasksMust be able to work independently or in a team settingAbility to work efficiently and accurately under pressurePossess a valid driver’s licenseAbility to lift 75lbsMust be able to obtain and maintain an Enhanced Security Clearance qualificationInuktitut language considered an assetPreference given to Inuit Land Claims Beneficiaries
