The Licensed Flight Dispatcher reports to the Senior Manager, Systems Operations Control (S.O.C) and prepares flight plans, crew briefings, monitorsall flights under control andfiles all prescribed documents.
Summary of key responsibilities:
Consulting and collaborating with all departments on flight activities
Monitoringof flights,delaying, re-routing, consolidating or canceling and substitutingequipment on flights
Flight preparation and Crew Briefings (including filing of ATC Flight Plans)
Weather forecasting,route analysis, calculation of fuel and payload capabilities
Record keeping, flight logs andassociated manuals
Developing andpublishing Aircraft Routing
Providing Operations Controland Flight Watch for other airlines as directed
RequirementsQualifications, skills and experience:
Essential
High SchoolGraduate with O’Level or the equivalent in English, Mathematics andGeography
Must possess a current FAA Dispatcher License
Aviation, 1-3 basic position relatedknowledge
Computer literate withexcellent numeracy skills
Must be able to work well under pressure both independently andas a team
Demonstrate good customer serviceinternally and externally
Able to remain calm and focused under pressure and in emergencies situations
Excellent communication skills orally and in writing
Must be prepared to be notified at the last minute of irregularities in reporting forduty
Able to work on a roster basis including weekends, early mornings, late nights and publicholidays
Desirable
Knowledge of security, customs and immigration regulations
