We are seeking experienced Avionics Technicians for a leading heavy commercial MRO facility in Sanford, Florida. These positions support heavy maintenance, troubleshooting, modifications, inspections, and repair of commercial aircraft electrical and avionics systems in a fast-paced hangar environment.
Candidates must have strong commercial aircraft avionics experience and be comfortable working during heavy checks, major maintenance events, and return-to-service projects. This role requires strong troubleshooting abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret technical data while maintaining FAA and customer compliance standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform troubleshooting, repair, modification, installation, and inspection of aircraft avionics and electrical systems in accordance with FAA regulations and company standards
Support heavy maintenance tasks including C-checks, system testing, wire repairs, component replacements, and operational checks
Install, troubleshoot, and repair avionics systems including communication, navigation, flight control, and electrical systems
Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, maintenance manuals, and engineering drawings
Perform continuity checks, operational testing, and fault isolation using appropriate test equipment
Remove and replace aircraft wiring, connectors, relays, switches, antennas, and avionics components as required
Document all maintenance actions accurately in compliance with FAA and customer requirements
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
Collaborate with team members, leads, inspectors, and management to meet production schedules and aircraft delivery deadlines
Follow all safety procedures and quality standards throughout the maintenance process
Requirements Minimum 2+ years of commercial aircraft avionics experience required
Strong recent experience in heavy commercial MRO environments required
Experience specifically on Boeing 757, Boeing 737, and Airbus A319 / A320 / A321 strongly preferred
Experience with heavy checks, troubleshooting, wire repair, and systems modifications preferred
Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals
Experience using avionics test equipment and troubleshooting tools preferred
Must have own basic tools required for the position
Ability to work overtime, weekends, and flexible shifts as needed
Must be able to pass pre-employment screenings and comply with airport/security requirements
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality
