BAE Systems is seeking a Tier 2 Systems Administrator to provide advanced technical support, account administration, and workstation lifecycle management across a secure, mission‑critical enterprise environment. The ideal candidate brings strong experience with Windows Active Directory, Microsoft Outlook/Exchange administration, virtual desktop technologies, and hands‑on troubleshooting of Windows‑based systems. This role supports end users, engineering teams, and program leadership to ensure reliable, secure, and compliant IT operations that enable our customers’ critical missions.
Key Responsibilities
Perform Tier 2 system administration and technical support for Windows‑based workstations, virtual desktops, and enterprise applications.
Manage user and service accounts in Windows Active Directory, including account creation, modification, group membership, permissions, and access troubleshooting.
Administer Outlook/Exchange functions such as creating and managing mailboxes, distribution groups, shared mailboxes, calendar permissions, and meeting invitation support.
Support virtual desktop environments, with preference for Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, including session troubleshooting and profile issues.
Provide full workstation lifecycle support, including:
Windows OS installation, configuration, and imaging
Hardware and software troubleshooting
Replacement of hardware components (memory, drives, peripherals, etc.)
Install and validate security patches, updates, and configuration changes on workstations and servers in accordance with cybersecurity and compliance requirements.
Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure systems meet security baselines, STIGs, and patch compliance.
Document procedures, troubleshooting steps, and system configurations to support knowledge transfer and audit readiness.
Escalate complex issues to Tier 3 engineering teams while maintaining ownership and communication with stakeholders.
Support continuous improvement initiatives, system modernization efforts, and process optimization across the IT environment.
