FP&A Analyst (Data & Analytics Focus)
Ontic, a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineered parts for the global aerospace and defence industries, is looking for an analytically strong FP&A Analyst to join our growing team.
This role is ideal for someone early in their finance career perhaps recently out of a graduate scheme or part-qualified who wants to develop at the intersection of finance, data, and commercial insight.

The Role
This is a hands-on FP&A role with a strong data and analytical focus.
You’ll support financial reporting and planning activities, while also working with large datasets to identify trends, improve reporting, and support better decision-making.
We’re looking for someone who is naturally curious, enjoys working with data, and wants to go beyond spreadsheets to build more automated, insightful reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Support SG&A reporting and analysis for the Staverton site
Assist with monthly management accounts, including variance analysis vs budget and forecast
Partner with stakeholders to understand cost drivers and provide insight
Support budgeting and forecasting processes
Data & Analytics Focus
Work with large datasets using Excel and (ideally) SQL or similar tools
Help develop and improve reporting dashboards and analysis tools
Identify opportunities to automate manual reporting processes
Ensure data accuracy and consistency across reports
Month-End & Controls
Support month-end close activities (accruals, prepayments, reconciliations)
Maintain clear audit trails and support audit queries
Assist with Capex tracking and reporting
What We’re Looking For
Part-qualified (ACCA / CIMA) or equivalent experience
1–3 years’ experience in finance (e.g. graduate scheme, assistant analyst role)
Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data manipulation)
A genuine interest in data, analytics, and improving processes
Confident communicator, able to work with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
Proactive mindset with the confidence to ask questions and challenge where needed
Nice to Have (but not essential)
Exposure to SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools
Experience working with large or complex datasets
Previous exposure to FP&A, management accounts, or business partnering
